  CARE International Projects
PEFSA-II Emergency food security, livelihood and nutrition support to flood affected populations in Pakistan
  1. Livelihood restoration of 172 most vulnerable HH by giving them unconditional cash grants in 6 months at District Qambar Shahdadkot.
  2. Livelihood restoration of 1500 wage workers HH with cash grants in 6 months at district Qambar Shahdadkot.
  3. Livelihood restoration of 500 vulnerable HH with agriculture and micro-business conditional cash grant support in 6 months at District Qambar Shahdadkot.
  4. Nutrition support to 2172 vulnerable HH for increased food security in 6 months at District Qambar Shahdadkot.

This project is implemented by AHD at UC Kolachi where 2172 HH will benefit directly over the project for the period of 6 months. This project is a consortium/alliance of CARE, Oxfam GB, IRC, ACTED, ACF (Joint with Handicap International), and Save the Children.

1632 HH Cash for work and Cash grants project for livelihood support and social security

AHD is implementing DEC-II livelihood project with Care International in Pakistan at Tehsil Mehar, District Dadu. With this project 400 HH will receive cash grants to restore their livelihood and start micro enterprises. 500 HH will receive backyard poultry support and similarly 732 women HH will be helped to start small projects of community infrastructure restoration at their respective villages under cash for work model to increase their social security and improve their livelihood.

3500 Transitional Shelters & NFI Kits in floods 2010 at District Dadu

Flood area survey and distribution of Emergency Shelter Kits is 3rd major project with Care International in Pakistan worth 12.3 million at District Dadu where 40 staff members surveyed 5000 HH and are in process of distribution emergency shelter kits among 3500 HH at District Dadu. Each shelter kit contains following items:

In Partnership with Care International, AHD has distributed food baskets to 4120 families at district Qambar Shahdadkot as per following details of items per beneficiary for two months:

This project was implemented at UC Hazar Wah, and Qubo Saeed Khan of Tehsil Qubo Saeed Khan, District Qambar Shahdadkot.

Blankets distribution among 8360 flood affected families at District Qambar Shahdadkot.

In partnership with Care International in Pakistan, AHD is providing 8360 families with 4 blankets per household at UC Hazarwah and Qubo Saeed Khan. These blankets are being distributed among most vulnerable flood affected families.

695 Hygiene kits and 695 Kitchen kits stock piling for contingency flood response plan 2011

AHD strategically partners with Care International in Pakistan at District Dadu for floods 2011 response. In this regards, AHD is maintaining a warehouse at District Dadu with Care International in Pakistan. For very urgent response to any expected flood, 695 hygiene kits on sphere standards along with 695 kitchen sets is stocked at district dadu.
